Botselo Mills is a dynamic, hands on, family operated maize milling operation located in the heart of the maize producing area of the North West Province in South Africa. Botselo Mills is owned and run by the Hobson family, who have been prosperous maize farmers in the North West Province of South Africa for three generations. It is from this farming background that our enthusiasm for milling was born some 30 years ago.
Initially the mill was a means of adding extra value to the maize crop produced by the farming operation in an industry then regulated by the Maize Control Board. It soon became clear that a demand for quality, locally milled maize products existed, and so began a natural and progressive evolution of a milling business.
From humble and modest beginnings, the milling operation has grown and developed substantially, into what it is today, a state of the art maize mill incorporating some of the newest and up to date technologies and milling facilities.
Botselo Mills is situated on 7.5 hectares of industrial property in Delareyville, of which approximately 25,000 m² is under roof. It consists of a white maize mill, yellow maize mill and beer plant.
The name “Botselo” in the local language Setswana, means TO LIVE, and that is exactly what our products do, they give LIFE.
